Easy to install
Fiat 500 key covers are an easy way to refresh your car keys. You can pick from a wide range of styles and colors to choose the one that is most appropriate to your personal style. They can be installed by yourself in ten minutes. You will need a screwdriver as well as some patience. The first step is removing the cover. The original cover needs to be removed before the replacement cover can be fitted.
Once you have removed the old cover, use an flat-head screwdriver to take out the four main attachment clips on the side that is on the passenger side of the fob assembly. They are marked in red on the picture below. Also note the tabs that locate slots, which are yellow, that need to be disengaged also.
Replace the old battery with a #CR2032 coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should face the opening on the fob, and the "-" side should be facing the buttons made of rubber.
Re-attach the passenger side mirror cover by aligning the locating tabs. Once you have completed this, put the fob on the driver's side in your car and test it by pressing the button on the front of the car key. If everything works as it should the car should turn on the parking lights and your doors will lock automatically.

When you insert the key into your Fiat, it depresses the ignition switch, which serves as an "key-in-ignition" reminder. The BCM will then be in a position to read the transponder in the key fob, and verify that it's genuine.
